SOMETHING IS BLOOMING

This one came together in a way that felt really natural. Last year Michele and I created a limited necklace that was only available for a short time, and people are still asking about it today. So when we started talking about doing something again, it felt obvious to keep building on that foundation. This time, we wanted to do something different.

Instead of jewelry, we moved into sweatshirts, approaching them the same way. A simple idea, done properly. Michele designed the sweatshirts herself, from the colors to the placement, and we brought them to life using our signature Diamonds + Sweatshirts quality and silhouette. It still feels like us, just seen through her lens. This collection features two colors, blush pink and soft blue. Each piece has a heart on the chest and a tiny one on the sleeve; a subtle way of wearing your heart on your sleeve without saying too much. It's the kind of detail that feels very her: thoughtful and sweet. 

It works as a gift, obviously, with Mother's Day around the corner, but it's also just something you'd buy for yourself because you love it. That’s kind of where the idea of “something is blooming” came from. Not in a literal way, more just the feeling of something coming together at the right time.

I asked Michele a few quick questions while we were working on this, here's what she said. 

Amanda: What made you want to design these?
Michele: I LOVE your sweatshirts and how unique they are - from the fit / feel of them to the embroidered sayings....truly have nothing else like them in my closet! Doing a sweatshirt collab with you is a dream and honestly, a fan-girl moment for me that you were even open to the idea of doing one together!

Amanda: Favorite detail?
Michele: The heart on the sleeve.  It's where I wear mine and anyone that knows me - knows it.  As a Mom, there is truly no prouder feeling than when I see my kids doing the same. An act of kindness, empathy for others, and not being shy about their feelings and emotions, especially when it comes to their own hearts and how they choose to share them with the world. A heart on the sleeve is just so fitting for me, and I don't have anything that I can wear to actually "show' it...so why not create something so I can!

Amanda: What are you always wearing lately?
Michele: A shit-ton of jewelry, a comfy pair of lived in, wide-leg jeans, sneakers or flats, a comfy tee and a sweatshirt because if I'm not comfortable and warm, I'm not going anywhere. 

It's also what makes this collaboration feel so natural. The details Michele focused on, especially the heart on the sleeve, says a lot without trying too hard. It feels like her, and it fits seamlessly into the world of Diamonds + Sweatshirts.
